I believe the 50 is in reference to 50 years of the 911?

LaFerrari has officially been revealed today at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived. This is the new Ferrari supercar and as you can see matches the previous leaked photo we showed a short while ago. At its heart is a V12 6262cc engine outputting 800 HP (588 kW) at 9,000 rpm and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque at 6,750 rpm. The electric motor provides an extra 163 HP (120 kW) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm). Ferrari says the car emits 330 g/km of CO2.
As a result, LaFerrari has a combined output of 963 HP (708 kW) and can rev up to 9,250 rpm. All that power is sent to the wheels through a seven-speed DCT. It will do 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than three seconds, 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in under seven seconds and 0-300 km/h (186 mph) in 15 seconds. Top speed stands at more than 350 km/h (217 mph).
LaFerrari is 4702mm long, 1992mm wide and 1116mm tall. It has a 2665mm wheelbase while the weight distribution is 41 percent front / 59 percent rear. The front of the supercar features a double wishbone suspension and the back gets a multi-link setup. It rides on 19-inch front wheels with 265/30 tires and 20-inch rear wheels with 345/30 rubbers.
The stopping power comes from Brembo carbon ceramic brakes measuring 398 x 223 x 36mm front / 380 x 253 x 34 mm rear. Electronic controls include ESC stability control, EF1-TRAC (F1 electronic traction control integrated with the hybrid setup), third-gen differential and magnetorheological damping with twin solenoids.
Still, i would rather have the Mclaren P1.

The McLaren P1™ will have two highly-efficient powerplants, a twin-turbo V8 petrol engine and a lightweight electric motor with a combined output of 903 bhp and 900Nm. The Formula 1™ inspired IPAS (Instant Power Assist System) and DRS (Drag Reduction System) provide an instant boost of power and actively optimising aerodynamics. Stunning performance, all under 200g/km of CO2 whilst full E-mode offers emission-free driving.

La Ferrari, like the Enzo, is too big and too Fugly.
918 or P1 for me...if I ever get the choice
Can't say I'm a fan of either the LaFerrari or the McLaren P1. And while I'm ranting, I can't say I rate the new GT3 as much as I'd like either - dislike the busy rear styling and twin projector headlights, and a real GT3 is not about the raw numbers, it's about feeling good going fast and doing ALL the work - which means a manual. The Porsche PDK is awesome for those people who buy a car as a daily driver (because they're so expensive they can only afford one), like a Carrera S. The GT3 is not this car.
Whilst i agree that a GT3 should be about the raw experience, i think this is now being pushed to the GT2 and RS versions.
Also, porsche doesn't give a rats arse about what i think since it's highly likely the majority of people actually buying the cars want a pdk transmission.
I know I'm getting old, and I do appreciate the effort that goes into preparing a car like this, but it doesn't work for me.
I don't understand the attraction of such a low vehicle, and the wheels/tyres simply look too small to me.
Having said that, I do like old-skool - I'd rather see this than a Mk6 / Mk7 similarly treated.
