I think you just have to go online these days and search for the best price in the spec/tyre of your choice.

Then go to your local chain store tyre franchise and most of them will match the online price. If they don't then go to the next one that will.

Anyone know the differences between the following tyres:

    - Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2
    - Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3
    - Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5
    - Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5

    P.S. I'm coming from Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3.

PPS, Just watched the youtube review comparing Ass 5 with Ass 3 and Conti Premium 6. Probably going with Ass 5 now after watching that. Found a good price for them online also.

    Thanks

whats the price you got on the Asymmetric 5s.
3 were really crap for me, didn't last long enough. Realized too late they need to be regularly pumped up so that could be the reason likely for more wear.

Delete the Directional 5 from your list, Crap tyre...

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 have been out for around 6 or 7yrs now.
I have them on my Superb, as when I needed new tyres back in June 2019, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 where not available in Australia.
I have the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 on my Passat now as I had them installed in September 2019.

    For everyday use, no difference.
I think the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 look better (sidewall and tread pattern) and it also has a beefier side wall (rim protector).

Apart from that, I guess just an updated model.

    You actually can.

I had a Goodyear Assy5 that fell apart on me on the freeway at 100+kmph 2 weeks ago.

had less than 20,000kms on it and only 4 - 5,000 of those were on the front and then rotated to the back. it literally opened up on me out of nowhere ( seems sidewall issue) and put me off the road within 2 minutes, both goodyear and tempetyres have tried to deflect blame back onto me, pressures (which are always checked before long drives and basically every week anyway) valve is fine with no history of problems.. tyre was giving me no pressure problems for the life of it up until it disintegrated.

Was in good condition with no damage or sidewall damage, and does not have a puncture on the tread after looking at it post deterioration, did not make any sound or feel like it hit anything which you can usually feel if there is a nail or big rock, tyre pressure light came on and then it was gone within 1 -2 minutes... where as usually my tyre pressure light will come on with just 5psi missing not 37psi in 1minute.

I actually saw the reviews for poor quality assy3 and avoided them after using assy2 with good satisfaction, seems like goodyear have taken backwards steps and are more concerned with SALES VOLUMES which are great according to the goodyear rep.

Will not be buying goodyear again
