Thanks for the comments fellas. I rwally apreciate them.
The cage was a "Trik" one from Dandenong.
It took a long gtime for him to do it and I arranged to pick it up in my Kombi after a trip around the Great Ocean Rd.
When I turned up at his factory at the time arranged he was away.
Frieght cost me a fair bit. (Gunter is for sale too.....)

Top shots, Andrew. I notice in one of the pics there you've carried a little too much entry speed and pinched the inside front wheel. ;) Good stuff.
Both great looking cars.

ohhh man that mk2 makes me envious... any idea where its ended up? not crashed i hope...

Hah!!! Preeeny, Missed the call due to warning triangles of another competitor that had gone off at that corner. Oops, anyway I will repost the 2 following pics from that sequence. Thus the bent guard, which is hanging up in the workshop here with one of the 3 things that we hit. By the wednesday he was all fixed. Still got 8th outright in that event, Rally Tasmania 03.
Mischa, the mk2 was an english import and had a 2E motor. It was like new and I loved it.
86gti owns it these days...
Cheers, Andrew :)

Leading up to "the" corner.

OOPS! What did you call???? (Started squeezing butt cheeks!)

Thought I had got it under control until the rear broke away. Note the guideposts, and another competitors OK sign and roadbook that had been leaning on the first post.

And driving it as fast as I could back onto the road while we still had momentum. It was only 1 more km to the finish of thnat 26km stage so I managed to get therte with the tyre rubbing badly, smoke pouring of it. We had no idea how bad the damage was. Lucky it was only minor, no suspension hit and the door wasnt touched.
We gained some respect after that off and got a fantastic result. The 3 wheeled pic was in the back of Auto Action and Rallysport news.
Cheers!

Ok, even though a spammer has revived this thread like a moronic stupid computer would, I'm going to post and say that is a fantastic set of shots mate. You've actually inspired me to get into my own project similar if I ever find some spare cash (gotta be a bit older, first!).
Great stuff Andy :D
