Here's a question for the vww brains trust,

I've still got my old 16" steelies from my 2011 T5
    215/65R16
    6.5Jx16 ET51
    5x120

Is there any simple AND legal way I can get these to fit on my Passat for winter/off-road use?

Have this in mind for snow trips and camping

Probably easier to find some Golf/Jetta steelies in the correct PCD. I like the idea!
    Cheap, Fast, Reliable. Choose two.

Wasn't sure there was much available. Could probably sell mine as the Tires still have a lot of life left. Maybe Tiguan steelies?

I've contacted my local dealer workshop to have the car looked over and scanned before the statutory 3 month/5000km warranty expires.

They asked about the service history and also about performing diesel recall remap.

The seller was Nissan/renault dealer and they claimed to have performed the 45k service.

However I have checked the paper work and it looks like all that was performed was a rego safety check and oil/filter change.
What's normally required at the 45k service?
And given the car is MY12 it would be due for Haldex service sooner rather than waiting until 60k?
It's been approximately 1 year since the original owner had it serviced at 33k mark.

45K is only oil and filter, plus an air filter.

Haldex is done every 3 years, from MY10.

Thanks for the response Umai Naa.

The air filter box in the book was ticked no, is it a check and replace if required or always replace at 45k?

So if haldex has not been done since 30k service given the age of the vehicle it should have been done at 45k or wait until next? I've see a few threads mention buying the oil/fluid and DIY, Is this really a self service item or best left to the techs?

I stopped doing my own oil changes about 8 years ago when I sold my old hilux and prior to that always did minor self service in my AWD Corolla

The air filter is replaced every 45K, or 3 years. Unless you can convince the customer the car has been used in severe conditions

Haldex can be a DIY job. The main thing is you need to be 100% on which fill and drain plugs you're removing, as there's 4 within about 6in of each other. It's a pretty simple drain/refill process. Tools are limited to a 5mm allen key, an 8mm allen key, and a fluid pump of some kind.

Do you know the Typical dealer cost to change air filter?
