Watercooled meaning??

Ah just means the car uses a radiator with coolant and all that - Older dubs just relied on straight air.

Welcome to the forum.

Watercooled means that the engine has water jackets through which water circulates to keep the engine cool. This water is circulated through the engine then to the radiator and the airflow over the radiator in turn cools down the water before it returns to the engine and the cycle recommences.

The specific meaning in relation to VWs is that it differentiates between the original VWs (Original Beetles, Kombis, etc.) which were aircooled i.e. no radiator and no water and the later generation of VWs which are watercooled.
