How Much Oil?

Hi folks, its me again...

The dub had done about 18,000km now and is still using a little oil and I was hoping someone can help with this question.

How much oil is required between minimum and the maximum lines on the dipstick of a 2.0 TDI?

Is the oil always this black?

The reason I ask the question - How much oil - is because I have read somewhere on here that overfilling can be bad.... so any constructive advice will be really appreciated

should be in the user manual - its typically 0.5litres between the "low" and "full" marks.... but it may be more. 0.5l is pretty safe though.

I did search the forum and eventually found some commentary on the GTI but wasn't sure it also applied to the TDI.
As for the manual, yes I should have checked it again as I read it fully when we got the car but couldn't remember anything on that.

Have a look at how black the exhaust fumes come out on a truck. Its just the way the fuel burns. This contaminates your oil.

Checked it after the service and it was as clean as... the same happened when we bought it, only difference is its not burning a much.
