Tyres sizes

Hi All

As per another post I am thinking of shifting to an R36.
I am running black OZ's on my Black 1er and thinking I will shift straight to a set of these for the black R36.

Just wondering if anyone has gone up in tyre width from the standard 235?

I was think maybe something a little wider just to fill the guards a little more than the standard stuff

The tyre pressure monitoring system in the R36 would be affected I think because it works based on tyre size rather than a pressure sensor. Not 100% sure on that though.

The car has been engineered with a certain size tyre and more critically passed ADR standards with a certain sized tyre. Changing them could compromise the ADR standard compliance and even worse, void your insurance.

As I understand them most Tyre pressure monitors have little to do with the actual change in tyre size. Some do measure tyre rotation and travel but these can generally be reset for new tyre sizes or actual tyre pressures.

The engineering and ADR comment I will not take as a reason not too change but thanks for the comment anyhow.

The tyre pressure monitor system of the R36 and 3.2lt V6 works on actual pressure and changing tyre size will make no difference.

Altering tyre size is legal as long as the overall circumference is not altered by more than 5%(if I remember correctly) and you must have the correct load and speed rating.
