    Start up issues...

Hi, i am starting to have issues with my 06 passat 2.0 turbo petrol. Upon starting the dash lights have not come on up to a dozen times in a row before they come on and it fires up.

I am wondering if anyone else has had such an issue with their passat and if so how much did it cost to repair through VW and also what could be the problem??? Cheers

I'm not a passat owner so I have no direct experience with your problem, but two areas I'd look at first are:

1 The ignition switch may be faulty so its not supplying power to everything when you switch on,

2 Corrosion in the circuit somewhere (maybe at a fusebox ? )

Can you hear the electronic steering column lock (ESCL) disengage? If not, you may be up for a steering column.

I'd take it to the dealer, and find the cause. If you're keen, see if VW will come to the party and help you cover the costs.

Depending how far out of warranty it is, VW may still help you out, but don't expect them to cover all of it.
