Which iPods work with the VW adapter kit?

Is there any truth regarding the roumours that I have heard about newer models of iPods not being charged by the Factory VW iPod adapter kit?

If so, does anyone know the models that do not charge?

Also, is there anyway that I can get the playlists / song titles to be displayed on the cars audio screen?

MDI works with all the latest Gen Ipods and phones both to play and charge at the same time.

The older kits that plug into the CD changer port on the back of the stereo don't. BUT - my GT had one of these and i spent US$12 on an adaptor that charged it.
