R36 Wagon LED Licence Plate Lights Install with Pics
OK guys,
next on my list of LED upgrades is the licence plate. I was having a really good look around and I was quite shocked to see the prices of some of these items. Some upwards of $100. I found this site (1 Pair Error Free 3528 24 SMD LED License Plate Light SET FOR Audi TT Q5 A4 5 | eBay) which had them at $17.78 and decided to give it a go. Well I received the items yesterday and I was quite surprised. The quality was great. They were individually wrapped. Well, the next part was installing them. It looked simple but wasn't really until you know what you were doing. Well I did some searching online and eventually worked it out. I'll save you the hassle. All you do is get a decent sized flathead screwdriver and insert it in the slot on the face of the light that is already in the car. You then have to try and push it towards the opposite end of the light. I think that in all cases it should be to the right. Now, it is a little difficult and tough but you push right and at the same time, you try and pull it out. Maybe a small flathead under the same end as the slot you have the big screwdriver in, helps. You will work it out though as I did. Once the light assembly is free, unclip and replace with the new LED version. Simply reverse the process to install in the car again.
The LED's are quite bright compared to the dull yellow standard globes but it is certainly whiter and they match the same colour as my puddle lights which is great. Might have to look at some new parker globes as they seem too blue compared to all the others including the xenon headlights.
Anyhow, hope these pics help.
