I'm currently putting a 1980 Passat back on the road. I think this was a special order, I've never seen another one like it here.

This is still a B1 but it's a transition model known sometimes as the "facelift" version.

Many similarities with the earlier Passats. These came off the Audi production line alongside the Audi 80s I believe.

    Here's the Project Thread.

    Yup, Erindale it certainly was.

I was actually considering one of those new (or the Audi version) back in 1973/4, but ended buying a Celica. Mainly cos the ladies seemed to prefer the looks of the Celica ! In my defence I was but a callow youth at the time.

It would be good to say hello to a fellow forumite, so next time we can have a mini-GTG (unless it is the missus driving the RS, in which case she would react as if you are a nerd from outer space )

The bright yellow wagon sure is easy to see in a car park

Almost 2 years later I scanned in the German Passat brochure I have with the G60 in. I have the Variant brochure as well but it's not that different that I could be bothered scanning it too.

Haha, guilty too. I'm actually still a sillycar fan though. Have had 7 of them... so far... the youngest being an '86 ST162. Personal favourite is the RA28 "mustang back".

VW's Passat is the largest car in their lineup.
    Wouldn't that be the Phaeton?
