    Amplifier trigger/remote connection

    Hey guys,

I am just installing a 4ch amp in a 2010 B6 Passat Wagon. Does anybody know where I can find an accessory wire to connect the remote wire for the amplifier? I have hit a wall with the installation.

    Cheers,
    Alex

    Hey Mate,

Put an amp and subwoofer in my GTI. Had the same issue as you - as the RCD510 source does not provide a remote trigger wire.

The simplest solution was to tap into any 12 volt accessory - which is powered when the ignition is on. In the golf I used the accessory socket in the boot. Works perfectly - but means the sub is on only if the ignition is on. Playing the stereo with ignition off = no sub.

    Good luck.

    Cheer mate.

I think I'll do the same and tap into the 12VDC cigarette lighter in the boot. I like the idea of not having the amps on with no key. I was just trying to avoid having to get to the ignition wire.

    Thanks again.
