what happened to the leather???
The Nappa is just so exquisite in my wife's TDI!!!
Here is the linky... Passat R-Line...
Not much different to what us with the Sport pack have bar the steering wheel which is easily purchased anyway. The new F & R bumpers are neither here nor there, maybe the front could be sourced....

More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....
What. A. Let down.
Is there not going to be a Passat R? Sheesh, after 7 Volkswagen's it look like I might have to finally look at other offerings when I sell the R36.
(Apparently there are other brands other than VW, or so i've been told?)

Why not just bring out a proper Passat R!! Maybe with a V8![]()
Am sad to see the end of my lease rapidly approaching. My R36 wagon will go and not sure what to upgrade it to. I'd like an R-Line but it seems VW Australia doesn't have any plans on bringing it here. Any advice on how to get around this?
Obviously I can buy a top of the line make some changes including exhaust wheels seats but it seems like an expensive exercise.

Turbo V8 4 motion DSG? lol
There's always the V6 Highline - same drivetrain as the R36. Option it with the "Sports Package" and the "Driver Assistance and Visibility Package", and you'll end up with a vehicle that is largely equivalent to the R36, with the exception of the aesthetics and the blue instrument needles.
Adaptive chassis control is standard on the V6 HL, so just leave it permanently set to 'Sport'.
It is rumoured that VW are working on a new iteration of the VR6 engine - a 3.0 twin turbo, but there's no word on how far away it is from production (if indeed it ever gets to production), and whether it will make it down under. Given the popularity of the R36 here, and the popularity of VW's other hi-po models here, it would make sense to offer a Passat with the new VR6 here. But, who knows?

The article says that the new 3.0TT will have similar specific outputs to the 2.0T. Can you imagine a 335kw Passat?![]()

Same same, I'm about to have the same problem (first world problem)
No offence to guys here with current shape passat's but I can't seem to warm to it something about the shape of front headlights & grill?, just my view sorry, though it's not as bad as the current Subaru Liberty offering !, the whole reason we ended up our R36 and so very glad we did
We are currently looking at a SQ5 Audi or a new Touareg both are beautifully built SUV's but are quite a price jump from our R36 when new & do I really need a suv ?
Having said that, after taking a Tourareg V8 R-line for a spin it's got some serious power for it's size !!
Good luck with your decision as I still don't know what to do either ?
