    103kw vs 125kw Passat

    Gday all.
Just curious, but how much of a difference in performance is there between the 103kw tdi to the 125kw?
I like the idea that the 103kw model passat is not fitted with DPF,as I have been reading that the DPF has caused some problems. I am not a rev head so the 103kw will more than likely do the job. I have been used to driving an old slug 4.2td Nissan patrol so the Passat will seem like a sports car. Cheers.

if the problems you read about the dpf were the problems i had... its a small price to pay for a much superior engine. go the 125 its not that much more expensive in the passat.

Go for the 125KW if you drive around with a boot load of stuff, and a few adults in the car.

If it's just to commute to work and back, the 103KW would suit.

I personally spent the bit extra to get the bigger engine, and have been impressed with it's power under load.

I haven't driven the 125kW, but will mention that I find the 103kW adequate.

I regularly have the Passat loaded up with 2 adults and 2 kids and a boot full of gear - it is a bit slower off the mark when fully loaded, but it still overtakes road trains without problem at 110km/h+
