    Using Tow bar

I have just used my dealer fitted tow bar for the first time and noticed a ACC error come up if I try to activate.
Also the green flasher pilot light on the dash has changed to a small arrow pointing both ways.
    Is this normal ?

    Try to activate what?

    Yes to the arrows though.

Was the cost somewhere around $1500-$1800? If a fair bit less, perhaps they didn’t do the electronic module thingo (and I’m guessing some coding)

Does it actually say ACC error or lane side assist not available

This is the case on the Touareg that it deactivated the side assist each time you plug in trailer and manually need to reactivate it after unplugging trailer

The error doesn’t sound right. I know reverse beepers and blind spot don’t work with the trailer, but I don’t recall seeing an actual error message. I’ve only towed a few times though.

YES fully agree, a error speaks for itself, if it was normal for ACC to stop working I'm sure it would message ACC disconnected.
Does your trailer assist work? I know in earlier post you mentioned you had it.

It works, but it can’t allow for smallish objects. It’s purely camera-assist at the rear. Because the trailer blocks a lot of the camera view, it’s really only useful if you can’t reverse a trailer at all (ie- reverse up to the dumping bay at the local dump)

I’m fairly decent at reversing, so only used it to see what it does.

The normal park assist the tiguan has is great. I’ve used it heaps and it’s always parked me within 10cm of the curb.

    Absolutely agreed.
Have used it lots for reverse parks.
Have not tried it yet for the rear to kerb parking yet
