I only plan to keep the Tiguan for 5.5 years (5 months after the warranty expires).

I normally do around 60K km over 5 years. Not sure if it is worth to swap after purchase

Do the Suziki style come on 18" ?

Should I swap the 20" for 18" at the dealer prior to delivery ?

The wheels were rotated at 15 K service.
The wear is even across all tires with no indication of needing an alignment.
The tire wear is 1.5mm till wear indicators are reached.
Tires are Continental. Local tire dealer said 30+Ks is good for Contisportcontact tires
All tires on Tiguan placard are V rated.
When I purchased Tiguan R the only tire available was the 255/40R20. I now wish to move to a higher profile tire for a better ride and cheaper to operate.
I am otherwise very happy with the Tiguan.

Still a little confused my friend...

You mention "front tyres are 1.5mm and rears 4mm" which to all intensive purposes meas your fronts are un-roadworthy.

But you have now mentioned "The tire wear is 1.5mm till wear indicators are reached".

So that means the fronts are 3.1mm and rears are 5.6mm; or am I missing something?

I understand that all the tryes are "V" rated on the tyre placard, however you will find most aftermarket tyres will be W or Y rated.
From memory they have a 101 load rating also...

Pirelli PZero are cheap enough that they won't put the price but I'd guess around $320

And for the extra-frugal WinRun are $135

Suzuka are only in 20" for the Tiguan. There is a 19" version of the Suzuka, however this is OEM equipment on the T-Roc and I doubt there would be any in the country as T-Roc is not here until this time next year.

Generally the lower profile tyres are a "sports" compound which tends to be softer/grippier but also last fewer km.

You could ask for a different wheel/tyre but typically you need to do this prior to signing the contract otherwise likely they'll give you a bad deal. Personally if you're getting the R-line you'll find it 10x easier to sell if it comes with the original wheels.

More than likely you'd have to replace the tyres in 5 years/60,000km on a set of 18's anyway so either way you'll be up for a new set. Just the 20's you'll probably have to replace sooner.

You will find that those conti’s aren’t the ones that are SUV rated, being the 5p

There are plenty of rims or rims and tyres on eBay and Gumtree off Audi A4, A5 and Q5 in 17 and 18 inch Dia with people upgrading to larger tyres.
The main things are to have 5x112PCD and an offset around 35 to 45 mm. To check if the wheel will fit I used Rim & Tire Size Calculator. Custom Offsets - Wheel-Size.com
The Audi rims have a Bore of 66.5mm and VW has a hub size of 57.1mm. A Hub Centric ring is required on each wheel to easily centre the wheel when mounting on the hub. These are available on eBay.
There are several sets of tyres and rims for around $500 to $1200 hundred dollars. 17 inch rims are cheaper than 18.

I purchased a set of Audi tyres and rims for $500 the rims are unmarked and the 235/65 R17 tyres are almost new. The tyre is only4% larger in dia, the speedo will read 62 at 60, 235/60 R17 has a Dia 0.3% larger than the original tyres and should be a better size.

If I only get the same kms out of these tyres I have saved $1500 dollars. The new tyres have a higher tread wear rating than the Contis. The new set is not runflat. They will still not fit in the spare tyre well. I will post a picture when fitted.
