Traction control button?

Hi All,
For those that have the older model with ESC button down near the DSG shifter, can you please confirm for me whether the button/icon lights up on the switch when deactivated?
All the other buttons light up when pressed (eg auto park, stop/start off, 360 view etc), but tonight I notice the ESC button does not light up. I get the warnings/lamps in the AID, but just checking to see if the switch itself should light up when pressed.

I thought it did, but now not so sure.

Mine is the same as you describe, ESC button doesn't light up but shows warning in the AID.

Wondering how difficult it would be to take the TCS button and wiring from a model which has it, and retrofit it into my MY18.5?

Has anyone tried this?
