Well off to the dealer you go, you might have got the Friday 4pm model edition.

ahahah yeah something strange is going on here...so called the service team and the lady on the phone, the coversation went something like:

Her: "Hi ive checked with a mechanic and you can turn it off, just not with the button"
Me: But every single model i have seen has the button
Her: Oh, ok, ill have to get the mechanic to give you a call on Monday.

I think what has happened is yours has been made with the console/buttons for another car. Probably got mixed up on the production line somewhere and they picked up the wrong part and put it into your car.

But yes take it back to the dealer and get them to check your VIN and what part(s) you "should" have installed.

Here's another clue guys I noticed the badge you are supposed to have which says "2.0 TSI" is not there "4motion" only...the plot thickens...

I'd be taking it back to the dealer and getting onto VW customer care. Who knows what other options/features you are missing that you should have.

On the flipside you may have picked up an option or 2 that wasn't intended so best to check that out too before making a massive fuss

The lack of badge on the rear is part of the MY18.5 "upgrade"... so I think it's just the interior panel that has been mixed-up and therefore has no ESC button.

Is your Tiguan MY18 - Oct build as well? My R Line is also missing the button too. What did the VW head office say?

I'm guessing you have received the first of the MY18.5 revision.
It looks like the ESC button has been deleted on the MY18.5 version and missing engine model badges is also a MY18.5 change.

I have both "2.0 TSI" and "4motion" badges.
