Ahhh! I assumed it must have been a pop out piece but didn’t know for sure as they installed before delivery

Hahah yep 100%! It’s like the leather seats nowadays except for the high end manufacturers… leather on the bits you sit on, pleather or fabric on the sides.

OEM is the westfalia VW dealer is local supplied, as long as it's the OEM wiring kit then your good to go. I did not fancy my bumper being chopped up on the R Line so went full westfalia.

Genuine VW towbar for me fitted prior to delivery. I want the ease of the 50mm receiver for my bike racks. I always have the tongue in when not using the rack plus it gives a little bit of protection if someone nudges me from behind. The small cut out on the bumper doesn't bother me at all.

Those with the westfalia, where do you attach your chains and are they easily accessible?

    Cheers

Interesting, I saw that earlier in the post but then saw the sticker on my bar so figured it must also be an OEM part as it has a VW part number on it

In some jurisdictions you can be fined for leaving tongue in when not towing and yes there are attachmennts for chains but as you will only need one due to weight limitations there is a place for it

I note that towbar has a ball limit of 200kg BUT what does the vehicle have as limit as most are a lot less than that and thats what governs it.

Doent matter if the towbar is rated to 5000kg and 500kg ball weight its the vehicles limit that matters

Even the 162 has graded limits depending on number of passengers according to the supplement in my car
