    Tiguan Mk2 - recognising a connected trailer?

I have just purchased a Tiguan Allspace and have had a Hayman Reese row bar installed with a 7 pin plug. When I connect a trailer does the vehicle “recognise” it ? I am issues with the rear side alert safety feature even if I turn it off

It should have the correct electrical module installed which can be $600 worth and turns off the parking sensors and stops the taildoor from being opened

Genuine electrics kit is fully integrated into the car's systems. The HR one is just a box of diodes that prevents the bulb-out warning coming on when you hook the trailer up.

I paid about $1500 to have mine fitted by the dealer. Coincidently, I received my OBD eleven reader today, and got these error codes as per attachment. I think the bar is aftermarket, Haven't researched what they mean as yet

The correct module for the trailer recognises it and turns off the rear parking sensors and disables the remote opening of the taildoor.. Doesnt look like that one is doing the right thing. Bet the dealer sent it out to someone to fit it Post a photo of the rear of the car so we can see what it looks like
