alternator failed 2022 allspace r-line
Thought I would post this as I found it pretty unusual and maybe someone else will find it useful.
My allspace has about 3900km on it and out of nowhere showed a dash alarm
12 V battery not charging. Stop vehicle safely!
OBD11 error code was P1B0000 Generator
Mechanical malfunction
Threw a multimeter on the battery and was only measuring about 12.8v while running. (Was expecting 13.5-14) so immediately suspicious of the alternator.
VW service today confirmed faulty alternator. (Not the pully bearing the whole thing apparently)
Parts been ordered and hopefully I’m on the road again in a few days
Chime in if anyone has heard anything about a bad batch of alternators. Or was I just freak unlucky.

Not yet, though ours only has ~2,000 kms - also a 2022 Allspace R-Line (147TDI).
Been having tail light issues though. VW have tried a software upgrade, replacement bulb/unit, but it's still happening and now affecting the other side.
It was also blowing some oil smoke the other week while parked. Haven't noticed it again since, tho rarely leave the car running without being in it.

Ahh I should clarify. Mine is a 162TSI.
Showed absolutely no signs of battery or alternator issues at all. Until the error
Will post more details when I get the car back with a write up on the issue.

Car returned and all fixed under warranty. Pretty happy with the quick service.
FYI, part replaced was 06K903024CX
