Would love to get a stage 1 done but I'm only halfway thru a 3yr lease.
Don't want to risk getting it done and having issues before the lease runs out.
Love the car other than the thirsty city driving.
Just install a JB1 or JB4 if you are concerned. This way you can physically remove it before and warranty work should it need it.

Highly recommend, tune was done in 1 hour. $1220, no discounting as far as I am aware.

Was this just an ECU tune or ECU and DSG tune?

So 18 mths on how are still finding the UGP tune? Did you get both the ECU and DSG tunes?

I reckon that VW should release an R version with power similar to Stage 1 - it would be an instant hit.
Hmm... fast forward 2 years from your comment.... they have done exactly that!

BTW - Im considering either apr or revo stage 1 on my my18.5 162tsi rline

sorry for reviving an old thread... now that we have got our new 2022 Tig R-Line I am looking to get it tuned to Stage 1 for now.

The workshop that looked after our old Golf GTi we had does both APR and RacingLine tunes, during a (very) brief chat with him recently he said just go RacingLine instead because it gives free tune upgrades if we ever go Stage 2 etc.

My only concern is that I don't see many (if any... especially in Oz) Tiguans running RacingLine tunes - is there anyone out there with experience of RacingLine tunes (either your own car, or a mates... something) on a Tiguan and whether they are any good (also safe)?

3yr lease ends in early Feb next year and we will buy our 162 Allspace outright.

So will go ahead with a Stage 1 tune once we take it over given we've had zero mechanical issues in the 3yrs.

Anyone got any strong thoughts on who to use in Sydney.
Based in Inner West but will travel a bit to get it done if there is a standout tuner.

    Hi All,

Few questions for those who have recently tuned. I have a MY19 Allspace.

    1) ECU & TCU tune - any recommendations of shops people have used recently? Based in Sydney.
    2) I'm also looking at doing hardware upgrades. Starting with the intake and DV. Anything else worth doing?
    3) Regarding intakes, open vs closed? I've read open could be affected by Aussie temps. Any truth to this? Looking at IE for open or R600 for closed.

    Thanks All

Have just had a stage 1 today on my 140km T-Roc. I've previously done inlet elbow and turbo muffler delete (just for flow maximisation).

I have an open airbox on order (APR pex - coz they are cost effective and I'm not interested in under-bonnet carbon porn) - but I live in Tassie...so bear that in mind. There are "Aussie temps" and there are "Aussie temps" if you get my meaning. Some places are hot and humid, others are cool and humid, some hot and dry, others.... Am sure you follow.

Being not on a race track or regular track days, it is my belief that for normal road use (which is realistically, occasional squirts of full throttle) and little more, open intakes are perfectly fine. A cold air intake might result in measurable (on a dyno) performance differences on hot days, but from the seat of the pants, I believe one is unlikely to feel any difference.

Open intakes also produce nice sounds

My main beef with the Racingline R600 is their filter - foam can be really hard to clean properly, and takes ages to dry. Unless you wanted your car off the road for at least a day when you clean your filter, you will need a second one available. You also need to be really careful which cleaners you use - foam can be robust, but if you use the wrong cleaner, it'll break down quickly and messily.

Just my two-bob's worth - hope it helps.

Edit: when i talk about the R600, my comments relate to foam - because foam is the only filter they offer which is MAF-compatible (the 140kw T-Roc engine uses a MAF). Choosing a cotton pleated filter (if it's compatible with your inlet pipe) nullifies my concerns in that regard.
