Has anyone tested one of these power box obd2 tuners yet?

Please dont waste your money or risk your engine - those ebay things are junk. The only one of these box type devices that is known to actually work on the VW engines is Burger Motorsports JB1. Burger Motorsport JB1 Tune – VW / Audi / Skoda – EA888 – AutoInstruct

No experience with CPI. Only comment I'll make is find out the cost of additional stages if you upgrade down the track. Some tuners do a cheap stage 1 and then slug you at every other stage. Others you get "free" retunes for life. So the "cheap" tune you can end up paying more in the end.

Also work out where you want to go in terms of end game for your mods and make sure whichever tuner you go with is able to support you all the way through. Otherwise you have to start all over again with another tuner and pay for the tune 2 x.

Hi dafidav how did you go with your stage 1 and which did you choose, I'm looking at getting mine done next month and thinking of going with Advance Vehicle Remapping part of the Quantum tuning group in UK. let me know of your experience with whoever you choose.

It doesn’t look like Racingline list DQ500 DSG on their list so best to contact Harding Performance. Also interesting that they are offering this as I thought they used to be a TVS dealer. Looks like they may do both now.

Another quick question regarding tuning - does the tuning map work on all mode settings or just Sport? OR can it be configured to only operate on Sport mode? I ask because my wife drives my car quite often and I don't want her get a power shock!

Some tuners can put different maps in different modes (say to give you an over-run crackle in S or M mode).
