R-Line carpet - not sure if the replacement carpet fitted is correct

    Hi,

I am wondering if someone may be able to help?

I had the unfortunate experience of needing to have all my carpets replaced in my 2018 R-Line Tiguan... the upside was my insurance company was awesome.

The downside has been the mob that ordered it and fitted it. I have a concern that what was fitted was not the same as the car came with, it doesn't seem as plush and there are strange markings on it

I have found a 'press out' in front of the passenger seat (best way I can describe it, see image). This is unfortunately starting to press out and I fear I will be left with a gaping hole.

Can anyone with a 2018 R-line confirm if they have the same? At present I only have my word against the repairer, maybe my memory is wrong and if someone can set me straight and or supply an image of theirs that would be much appreciated.

    Kind Regards

    Drew

I just checked my my17 tig r line and I have the same press rectangle thing
I also think if I push on mine hard enough it may push theough
its like a provision for wiring, maybe on tigs with electric passenger seat motors or something

Drew, that is the same on most (if not all) VAG models for the past 20yrs or so.
That is "punch out" for additional equipment, such as Dynaudio Amplifiers / Bluetooth Modlues (back in the day) etc. etc.

Nothing to be concerned about, they are all like that. Move on...

Glad you had a great insurance claim though...

What actually happened to warrant replacement carpet?
    Do you have a Sunroof?
    Water leak of sorts?
MY18 VW Passat Alltrack Wolfsburg Edition + Panoramic Sunroof + some extra goodies... (Pure White)
MY17 ŠKODA Superb 206TSI 4x4 + Sunroof + Tech Pack + Comfort Pack + some extra goodies... (Moon White)

    ope126,

Thanks for the additional info, it is much appreciated.

Yes I do have a sunroof but it wasn't from that.

Carrying fuel in the rear and it leaked... a mistake that wont be repeated.

Do you know if the carpet types are the same between the variants? It does not seem as plush as I remember it - but then again I don't remember the cut out. The car no longer stinks and that is the main thing.

    thanks again
