    Parking brake button broken?

I think a part of the hinge has failed on my switch. This morning when I pushed it down (off) I noticed it didn’t move in a normal ‘gate’ and sat askew afterwards.
Pulling it up also felt odd.

It still works, but is bugging me.
Is it broken- or has something popped out?
    If broken, is it warrantable?

If the car is still under warranty, then absolutely that's a warranty issue.
No different to if an indicator stalk was broken etc.

Is it just the button that feels/looks odd?
If I read it right, it's just the button/housing that broken, not the electronic brake mechanism?

Sorry if I worded my post awkwardly. You have read it right

Cheers for the thought. I’ll contact the dealer and organise for 2-3 visits to fix something simple...

Took car to dealer this morning. They looked at it and are ordering the new switch.

Also booked it in for an expansion tank recall. My car always faintly smells of coolant after a long drive. Related?

Has anyone else had this recall actioned on their Tiguan? (diesel if it matters)

Yes, just noticed this in the last week or so. My issue is more with the EHB not disengaging when I press down, sometimes I need to do this several times before the yellow light goes out, putting it up to activate EHB is't an issue tho.

It does look slightly off, almost like the buttons bent.

Will be sorting it under warranty.

That’s how mine is too. Turning off takes a measured action to work- due to it being broken and not fully pushing in.

I never push my EHB button down (off).
I always just start driving off and it automatically disengages

I tried that for a while (and auto hold) but I hate the jolt it puts through the car and driveline as it disengages each time.
