QI charge and signal boost would be awesome, particularly signal boost in remote locations. No idea why they don't offer it here and I wonder if it can be retrofitted with genuine parts from Europe or US.

Congrats on your new Storm Trooper and welcome to the club!

P.S. Two USB in front and one in rear were features already added to the MY18 Highline.
Deletion of engine type badges and ESC/Traction control button next to the gear stick are reported MY18.5 features. Do you have the ESC button?
Big negative on that one too...forgot to mention that...blank switch (Doug DeMuro pet Hate)...

The MY18 was a pretty worthwhile upgrade. We ended up getting one due to the extreme delays we had last year and I'm glad we did. the new Discover Pro looks so much better and I hate headlight washers with a passion There are some other bits but who cares. I doubt the MY19 upgrade will be as noticeable but who knows.

I wonder if the MY19 update may include '8 speed automatic with Tiptronic 4MOTION' as they do on the latest Canadian Tiguan Highline

I doubt it - it seems to be a North American specific spec. Theirs is also the Allspace version, which we are soon to get, but VW have announced the same drivelines as the regular Tiguan range.

Does anyone know the difference between MY18.5 and MY19 ?

i.e. what additional extras would come with an MY19 Tiguan 162 Highline compared with the MY18.5?
Howdy. Just re-livening this thread, as it seems news of any updates is likely to come out in the next week or so...

We must be getting closer. Volkswagen have spoken about MY19 plans for the Golf now (Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance trim becomes standard for MY19 | CarAdvice)

^ makes the 162TSI motor/tune in the Tig seem a bit old hat...

It looks like a fairly predictable cycle... given the wait times and queue, my guess is anything you order now from the factory would likely be MY19 anyway. I’d get my order in and perhaps ask the dealer to specify MY19 on the order.

As the GTI engine appears to be discontinued, does this mean the new MY19 Tiguan Highline will get the new GTI 2L turbo that upgrades from 169kW/350Nm to 180kW/370Nm ?

Golf GTI gets performance upgrade - Golf GTI gets performance upgrade
