It will be the same as the non R-line equivalent.

R-line is a purely cosmetic upgrade.

Given its a GTI engine, you would expect the same 'heavy' sound...I guess

Adaptive Chassis Control and Progressive Steering are not cosmetic.

Those aren't exclusive to the R-line though are they?

Yes, they are. The Highline doesn't get them, they're added with the R-Line pack.

In NZ the standard 4Motion Highline models (132TSI & 110TDI) gets the Progressive Steering as standard and can option the DCC Adaptive Chassis Control ($2,250 option). The 162TSI R Line gets both of those as standard.

Think we need to identify what countries it's for as it's different for each. In Oz the R line Package is only applicable for the Highline variant. I much prefer to have an itemised list to choose from rather than having bundles. But VW Oz isn't going that way, tends to be less and less of options.

We're not that far from NZ why do we get a crappy options list?

Over here the R-Line is $9,000 more than the 132TSI Highline or $7000 more than the 110TDI Highline. If you add up all the options that come standard with it (ACC - $1000, DCC - $2250, Easy open Tailgate - $300, Discover Pro - $4500, Heads Up - $1000) you are getting $9050 worth of options. On top of that you are getting the better 162TSI engine, body kit with 20" wheels, Dynamic Cornering Headlights and upgraded interior basically for nothing. Made going with the R-Line a no brainer for me.

They've played the new Tiguan ad a few times tonight - first time I've seen it. It's really, really bad.
