If you have a look at the offers on VW website you'll see that they are offering the 110TSI Trendline for $36,990 driveaway and the 132TSI Comfortline at $46,990.

However the monthly repayment on the 110TSI are $136 (@8.82%) vs. $132 (@2.99%) for the 132TSI. So you'd actually have rocks in your head to buy the 110TSI at the moment as you can get a 132TSI for the same amount out of pocket each month.

My bad weekly payment. Trust the accountant to pick up my mistake but even still repayments are lower on the 132TSI.

Thanks Tig but I know the DA prices from the website. Was hoping people could provide the lowest they have negotiated with dealers / brokers so I know how low to go.

Check the details on the website. There's a 10% upfront payment and a balloon so you will be putting down a bit more on the 132TSI than the 110TSI.

However having said that the offer was only until the end of the month and now they've changed... Looks like Allspace has the 2.99% finance deals now.

My only comment is when there's driveaway deals both VW and dealer are cutting their margins to make the deal. When there's finance offers it's VW that is tipping in the whole of the incentive. The finance deals are worth ~$5-8k over the life of the car and it's a lot more than you'd normally get so you need to grab these deals when they come up. You can save more that way but I'd still be nailing the dealer down a couple of grand on the price.

Just comparing current finance offers between the 132TSI Comfortline standard Tiguan and Allspace:

How much did you pay for your Tiguan?-annotation-2020-10-01-084500-jpg

The total amount payable is almost the same (~$130 in favour of Allspace), however with the standard Tiguan you're putting in 10% deposit of $4,700 upfront and with the Allspace you're getting a $2,000 more expensive car. So you're close to $7k better off with the Allspace finance offer.

I'm not trying to promote VW finance offers (other brands do similar things) but if you're buying cars on finance then you can often save more on the finance than you will on nailing down a dealer on price. Though I recommend doing both

Certainly the Allspace is where the good deals are at the moment. You'd hope that had a decent amount of stock coming as they're running the deal until the end of the year.
