Thread: Tiguan shuts down the start stop system

Tiguan shuts down the start stop system

Can I turn off the start stop system?
it used to be enough to adjust the volts from 7.6 to 12 or the temperature and it worked, so it doesn't work on a new car.

I have VCDS and VAG can Pro.
    thank you for the advice.

Yeah they've stopped people from doing that mod on the newer cars.

I still think disconnecting the battery sensor works but it's not a great option to be honest as your car doesn't get feedback on battery temperature.

On MQB platform can be disabled with this metods, on other no, only disconnect battery sensor, and then car work on 1000 rpm and can overfill battery.

Cant be done on 2020 models as VW has done something to prevent it being done

What that poster means is, the method that has worked also hurts the battery.
As it tricks the system into thinking the battery needs high amp load fed into it- rather than just trickling in current (as it actually needs)

Yeah so if you don't want to stuff up the charging then you need to leave the battery sensor connected.

If you're not too concerned about the battery and really want to permanently disable stop/start you can unplug it. Otherwise it's just hitting the button each time you get in the car.

It’s a pity that cars with stop/start can’t (officially) permanently disable it. I know it’s a compliance issue and that’s why- but still annoying.
One of the stupidest inventions ever. More cost at design, manufacturing, purchase and as maintenance to the end-user.
