Brakes shot at 45k

Imagine buying a 500k supercar, with carbon ceramic discs and having to do maintenance on those every 30k...

Seriously though, it’d be good if cost of ownership stats (like Carsales do for fuel cost per 1000kms) was implemented.

Services, failures/costs, times needing mechanics visits and normal consumables (based on user reported averages and dealer prices- or if this data uses manufacturers ’averages’, the user can hold them to it- in normal city driving anyway)
All that over 5 years (10 ideally)

It’d be interesting and would have an impact on many people’s purchases.

But what is "normal" city driving.

Some on here talk about how htere car performs at 4000rpm etc.. Well they also have to stop it and so chew up brakes.

I have a friend who used to moan about how his tyres and brakes didnt last long enough.

He is a drive 3ft in front of car type driver. Never looks up ahead to see brakelights and notice if traffic is slowing. He rips into it and keeps foot down right up to corners and then mashes the brakes and wonders why they dont last. As for tyres slowing down for roundabouts would probably help as you have to hang on when driving with him, same on corners if road is clear and then says why are tyres wearing on edges.
How can manufacturers allow for drivers like that.
As for supercars they have higher quality gear to match their performance and are priced accordingly.
The average consumers car is built to a price to compete with others of a similar class so you cant expect equiv brakes in a VW that a Lambo has.
My Passat at 43,000km still had 45% on the pads and tyres still had 3.5mm on them so not everyone drives like a F! ace

So how much do these ceramic pads cost for a Tiguan, what is the best brand to buy and where is the best place to get the pads changed over ?
