    Load Roller Cover - Wolfsburg

On the Wolfie, is the load cover supposed to move automatically when the tailgate is opened? The manual mentions something about it but mine doesn't.

There is a setting in the infotainment unit….I can’t recall exactly, but it might be under vehicle settings, opening and closing. There is an option for automatically opening the cargo blind when opening the tailgate (note that the cover opens to the half-way position, not fully open)
    Cheers

What doc_777 mentioned is correct. However it is not specific to the Wolfsburg Edition, this feature is on all B8 Passat's (and various other models across the VAG range). If however you find that your infotainment has this featured "ticked" and it is still not working, you might have to give the rails a clean and possibly a little spray of silicon in the channels to aid the movement...

Great, thanks guys, I'm sure it is ticked so I'll give the silicone spray a go.

Try cleaning with a microfibre cloth first.
Then just a small spray of silicon on the tabs. DO NOT overspray...

    Thanks, will try that first.

Mechanically how does it work, keen to understand in case I need to troubleshoot further.

No joy with the load cover, cleaned all the channels and around the lug, little spray of silicone but, nothing!

I think I’ve found the problem, OBDEleven throws up a left.elec. Luggage compartment cover electrical error, fault code B154F01. I can’t upload the screenshot.

Looks like I’ll need to workout how to get to that connector and check it.

Problem resolved, the connector had popped off. Plugged it back in and tested, all working. 🙂
