    Correct.
    Then clear faults and check if you have anything left.

    Sounds pretty straight forward kamold, I shall try this over the coming weekend and report back. Hope one day this post might be of some help to another dedicated VW Passat owner. Now, approaching 318K km ... only 182K km to target mileage.

    But ... in the mean time I still have to learn the best way to get the 1 piece manifold off to replace the broken PCV valve membrane.

    So, it took a while ... but today I've recoded the ABS with the "old" code. Sure enough - it worked. No more ABS fault codes of any kind. I've still got that annoying fault code to do with radio head unit but that ought to be a subject of another post.
