tell me about it - keep forgetting to buy some more Meguiars chrome polish so mine are looking quite feral at the moment.

it actually gives me peace of mind... knowing that there's more fuel going through than actually needed when under WOT... means it shouldn't be wearing too badly or be likely to grenade any time.
Compared to my chipped A3T my R36 blows virtually no smoke
I actually agree with Rocket36, much better to run the engine rich as oppose to lean.

I second that.
It's smart engineering and besides, now you can really say you "smoked someone at the lights".....oh that was bad, really bad...
Plus when you "smoke" one of those ancient V8's at the lights, they think they were just flogged by a Euro diesel.

Thread Resurrection!
Just wanted to give thanks for this. I've just picked up an R36 from Sydney (bought unseen at auction) and ran it straight down to Hobart. I was told it had some engine knocking so was concerned by the smoke on harder acceleration. Apart from a little rough at lower speeds it seems fine but now that I'm home I'll get it checked out properly. I was using BP98 and probably will exclusively. Still the go?
The car did briefly spend some time on a towtruck on the way down somewhere near Mittagong but only due to Pickles sending me off with a completely knackered battery.
I look forward to exploring the forum.
Yeah mine does the same. I use BP ultimate.
