    Hi Kamold,
The full VCDS scan is too large to paste here. Can I send it to you in an email?

Just a massive thank you to Kamold for taking the time to sort out my issues with ACC and Front Assist yesterday. You are an absolute legend!!!Adaptive Cruise retrofit-acc-jpg

    Hi Kamold,
I try to install the ACC-System on my Passat B7 wagon too. But the ABS-hydraulic block won´t accept the coding. I bought, depending on the Information that I found in your thread, the ABS hydro block number with letters AR. Is there an additional step needed before the new code is accepted from the ABS ?

Need some more information - ideally a full VCDS autoscan.

Hello kamlod, I have also converted a lot of my Passat B6 to B7 and now have the same problem that you described here.

Modify the ecu software to not log the fault.
If you can get a read of your ECU with something like KESS, MPPS, Galetto etc I can get it modified to remove the ECU side fault which stops the issue from causing a braking disengagement situation.

thank you for the offer. I have a colleague who I could send an identical ecu to, which he could then read out. Does he have to flash it with KESS again or can I do it with VCP?

why do my post above you just disappear?

If it's read with KESS will need to be written again with KESS most likely. I don't know if VCP can necessarily write a KESS MED9.1 flash read.
As a general rule it's best to use the same tool as was used to read, to do the write. Most ECU tools will correct the ECU checksum at the write step. So if you're checksum is written incorrectly the ECU could be bricked.

The posts looked like duplicates (x3)

    So it will be KESS

I think removing the error code will definitely prevent the ACC from being switched off. However, in this situation the ACC still does not behave as smoothly as the old combination. Since you switched directly to 3AA ACC, the comparison is missing here.

drsedoy from the drive2 forum has had a similar experience and apparently made further adjustments to the ECU. The ACC brakes earlier and the "emergency situation" is practically avoided.

I have a friend who can lend me KESS for some time, so that I first program the DTC code and then deal with other ACC fields in the ECU.

Maybe drsedoy will answer my request and I will get some information.

The way I understand it, (this is purely speculation), the problem arises when regular ACC braking tries to transition to front assist braking. There is an unexpected command received by (or sent by) the drivetrain controller (the ECU).
This causes the incompatibility fault and disengagement of ACC braking, which is obviously dangerous.
As it is now with the modified ECU software, in this instance the fault code is logged in the ECU, however it does not cause a disengagement, so braking continues. The fault is only noticed if doing a scan.
The fault code itself could be masked in the ECU so that it doesn't log at all.
There may well be a way to modify the MED9.1 so that it operates in the same way as the MED17 in B7 (or EDC for diesel) but the complete answer may be an ECU upgrade.
