ARGH. This just makes me hurt being car-less even more!
Paul, I should have a car in time for this one - a 1988 Caterham Super 7. If you’re up for letting me out, I’ll take a reserve spot and will confirm nearer the time.

Please add me to the Reserve list +1 passenger.
I'll PM you my phone number so you can call if need be.
I'll bring cash out if I'm running.
HPRS230 - Grey Skoda wagon (TDI...)
Brake bleed - check.
What else do I need to do? I tightened wheel bolts to 9 ft lbs. Seems like a lot
I’ve never tightened up wheel nuts. Remember this is happy laps so you’re not really putting too much strain into the car in the corners.
I do, however, check all my fluid levels and inflate the tyres by about 3-4 psi above my normal running pressures to help the tyres cope.

The more strain in the corners, the happier my laps
I’ll definitely check all fluid levels to ensure they’re at the bare minimum. I don’t want to be carrying excess weight. Same with tyre pressures. I think the more air in them, the heavier they’ll be, so that will only increase unsprung weight.
Errr, no.
You want your tyres with a bit more air in to make them move around less and overheat. If your sidewalls are soft, it will add more roll to the car and you will cook your tyres as the tread blocks will move around too much generating heat.
As for running your fluids at minimum - sure it’s lighter, until you go round a corner and starve a pump because everything has sloshed to 1 side.
You’re not on these laps to break lap records and if the marshals think you’re getting carried away they will call you in or stop the session.
