16th August - QLD - Gold Coast Moutain Cruise

G'day Mateeys,

Here is the final route for the Cruise through the Mountains of the Gold Coast.

ROUTE

Route (Google Maps)

The route is about 180km and will take about 3 hours.

Forget the 60km detour between C and D (C is hidden behind D) as Google Maps doent believe the road exisits, but it does, I went there to check...

The starting point is the carpark at the Currumbin Beach on the point near Elephant Rock. Meeting time will be between 8:00 and 8:30 and plan to leave at 9:00.

The end point is at Harrigans, and Irish Restaurant in Calypso Bay.

There are a few cafes along the way for Pit-Stops.

For those of you who don't want to drive the Whole way, you could meet us at St Bernards on Tamborine Mountain at about 11:00.

We should finish around 12:30 at Harrigans for some lunch.

And the route promises to be non-stop twisty fun the whole way. The kind of roads that cars were made for!!

Directions to the Starting Point:

From Pacific Highway (South)
Take the Palm Beach Turnoff
Turn Left and head towards the Coast.
Turn Right into the Gold Coast Highway.
Turn left after the estuary bridge.
Turn Right at T-Junction
Starting point a couple hundered meters on the left at the carpark.

I won't have the new brakes in by then ufortunately.

Let me know how long the route ends up being and how punishing it is on the brakes and I might consider coming along. Will hopefully head down in the early morning for the meetup anyway to say g'day.

I should definately be at the final destination, as it is only a few min from my place. Cant be 100% sure about attending though, may have to work

Don't know about doing the full drive, got no passenger now, might meet you's at one of the stopping points on the way instead.

Hey guys i wont start with u's but i will meet up around tamborine or nerang ?

just saves me a lil bit of the juice , live really close to tambo .

Will , i shall anoy u to find out when u guys should be heading throu there or if someone would like to keep me informed that would be sweet to . .
