Bluefin real world gains on aus spec Golf R

So all the information I can find about the bluefin tune suggests a 39hp (roughly 30kw gain) over stock.
Interestingly enough all references to "stock" refers to the euro specced 200kw golf R

so when we flash the bluefin on our aus cars does that mean we get roughly a 30kw gain or are we actually getting a 42kw gain over the australian stock spec?

    has anyone dyno'd a before / after?

edit: just realised there was another thread regarding the bluefin, can this be merged?

I dynoed before and after and the gain was 15KW.

Hmmm very interesting. I'm not quite sure how to interpret your graph.

170atw is a fantastic result! but the 155kw base seems a little high. I've seen a stock Golf R read as low as 130 on a dynomatics shootout.
Also according to that graph there aren't any gains until well passed 4000rpm? Also peak torque looks more or less the same but simply doesn't drop off as quick as stock?

How does the car feel and are u happy with the tune?

It all depends on the dyno you use, there will always be a difference in results coming off different dynoes. I was told that the Mainline dyno in Revesby is one the best and cheapest and that is why I went there.

Down low the difference in power is non existent, but once I go above 3000 rpms the car opens up really well and pulls very hard. I would have liked a bit more torque down low but I guess I chose to go with a Bluefin because I wanted a tune that is easy on the car so its a trade off.

Overall Im happy with the tune, the car is still very smooth but packs more of a punch when I put my foot down

    Thats all I want really

I would of expected more than 15kw.

I'm considering a tune at some stage and would of thought the Bluefin gains would be higher.

Does the bluefin tune help with the sloppy drive when in D? bit dissapointed to hear that there's no improvement whilst driving off boost as I have found it to be very sloppy in D where it spends most of its time below 3000rpm

Here's a response that i received regarding my initial question

We have received confirmation from the UK that in most cases you will get more than the 39bhp but because of the temperature differences, it will not be too much more. It’s most likely the tuned versions over here will be the same as the UK tuned versions in terms of power and torque, but because Australia suffers in both quality of fuel (more variety) and higher temperatures, we have to be careful in pushing it too far.

I thought so too, but 15 or so KW is actually a lot when driving. Im not really fussed personally. It actually makes the car a lot more derivable, makes the DSG a little more responsive too.

Its 15kW at the wheels as well. So just be mindful of the difference.
I know that flywheel kW's were used at the start of the thread then changed to at the wheel when the dyno graph was brought up.

I spoke to the guys at Superchips in the UK, discussed the lack of torque down low. They sent me a new file that feels much more powerful. I will now take it to the dyno again sometime next week to see what it pulls up. Will keep you posted.
