I was thinking that (about not having to buy paper filters), but my K&N equals roughly 15 OEM paper filters, which is 150,000k's worth. My current car has 75,000 on it and I'm working on trading it in for a golf... In my case the filter want a bargain in disguise...

My personal opinion is they are just a marketing tool . We tried them on the race cars and certain types slowed us down up to 1 sec a lap around wakefield . Stick with OEM with a decent pick up , the factory spent a fair whack of money to get the flow right for the car . Money better spent elsewhere

what by sticking massive restrictors in the airbox intake?
We cut them out and it made a nice difference and the k&n pod has improved upon it again, i havn't got the cold air feed on yet though.
