Anyone tried an ecu reader/flasher

Has anyone ever tried one of those ebay ecu flash/readers? I was interested particularly in one that can handle the edc16 ecu in my 08 Golf TDI 140. Anyone had experience re tuning the ecu file once read from the ecu?

I noticed it can be used on a "Golf 5 2.0 TDI 140 CV" . This might be a euro model. Does someone know if this model the same as the aussie tdi 103kw with PD (pumpe dusse) injection?

That'll be the same motor.

Sure it's cheap but it'll be uncharted territory for you. You'll have no back up.

I'd be surprised if anyone from an established tuner would let you have a file for it.

It wouldn't be anywhere near $1500 for Custom-Code. You pays your money and takes your chances.
