    1.8 8v vs. 2.0 8v heads

Note***Sorry guys should have mentioned in the title im specifically just talking about heads.

hey peeps I need some enlightenment please.

I have a 2.0 8v ADY engine that Im installing in my B1 passat. It will be fitted with an aftermarket cam, adj cam gear and twin 40 webers.

Which is generally better, sticking with the 2l head or go for a 1.8 gti big valve head? I have the adapter plate for the inlet manifold for the 2.0l head for the carbs manifold or alternatively I have an acquaintance who can weld/fill the extra opening that the 2l heads have on the intake.

I have heard that the 1.8's flow better but the 2.0 already have bigger valves.

When we did Anton's 2E conversion, the 2 litre head valves and chamber size were identical to the 1.8 JH head that went on the engine.

ADY I dont know about. Maybe check etka and see if the valves are the same part number ??
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,

Just checked etka and they appear to be the same part number.

I might stick with the ADY head. The ports dont seem like they wouldnt flow to badly.
