    wire through firewall

On a Golf R 2018, can anyone suggest a convenient place to run a wire from the engine compartment through to the cabin where it is easy to get at to plug into the 12V console socket please?

Try to follow the original wiring loom. It is usually the easiest and safest.

Thanks. On another forum I was pointed at a grommet under the glovebox that will do nicely. It goes into the engine compartment behind the battery. Although not easily seen without removing the battery I believe I'll be able to grab the cable when poked through.
