Acquired a stock MK7.5 GTI exhaust recently for the project. Be fitting that along with the valance up soon to make it look a bit more aggressive.

Also got some 17" Audi alloys in need of love, will redo them in gloss black and that will finish off the project for me then.

Did some work on the 17" Audi rims over the holidays.

Sanded down, primed and painted. Just need new tyres before they can go on. Total cost so far $168.00 (rims + SupaCheap paint materials)

Its not difficult at all, just a bit time consuming sanding. Starts with really rough sandpaper and then progressively goes smoother to get it really nice. Took me a few days to sand 4 wheels properly (admittedly only did a few hours a day during the holidays) and 1 day to prime and 1 day to paint (black 3 coats and 1 coat clear).

Its pretty good, about 90-95% as good as a factory wheel I'd say, given I don't have proper spray booth or spray gun and only used the spray cans.

Started with 80, then on to 160, then 400, then 800 and finally 1500. Spent most time on 80 and 160 and the others went much quicker as it progressively got smoother.

While I'm waiting to buy new tyres, I stuck a pair of carbon look mirror trim covers on the 110. Looks pretty decent.

These are covers only, meaning they stick on to the actual mirror cover. (I used the R's silver covers as a base to preserve the white covers)

I fitted proper carbon mirror covers to the R the day after I got it. Looks pretty similar
