The move from 35 to 40 profile is lush, it’s so much more forgiving on potpoles and speed bumps!
I was thinking about these for my BMW..( they look a bit like a CSL wheel)....is there much concavity ? ..they look fairly flat in the photo.

I want the concave of the genuine Audi wheel and I'm noticing some of the replicas look rather flat.
Unfortunately you can't get a real concave looking wheel on a Golf without having poke. There's just not enough room under the guards to allow it.

Don't go reps. There's plenty of decent second-hand wheels out there that are much better than reps if you can't afford them new.

I have the Santiago's on my MY15 GTI-P and I reckon for country driving the tyre profile is too low. The car crashes and bangs into bridge gaps and minor pot holes. I've owned it since new and the current tyres (Potenza's S00 ??) are a better ride than the original P-Zero's. I think 18's with a large aspect ration might be an upgrade I'll look at.

I have the same car and agree 100% about the too low profile. I switched wheels to 19 x 8.5 with 245 wide tyres to gain a bit more sidewall.

I will be interested in what 18's you decide on......I like VMR 701.

Can someone help me decide on what wheels to choose for my mk7 GTE? The collor of my car is black.

    As I want to keep my current tires i'm looking for 18 inch wheels, my options are;
    - Pretoria gloss black
    - Santiago
    - Spielberg
    - tcr wheels gloss black

    Thanks guys!

Does anyone any experience with Hussla wheels, good or bad? They have some nice designs but I don’t know much about them

    This.. 100% (and very late).

This thread loves concave but only attempt if you're willing to make the effort to set it up.. but especially stick to known brands. Life is too short.

Probably way too late, but would love to see what you ended up going with?

On 18 inch it is worth noting the Pretorias are as heavy as other stock VW wheels, unlike the 19 inch which are forged.

Being a GTE one would think a light weight option without extra width would be the go.
