Weds rn05m in 18x8.5 plus38 offset. 225/40/18. I love the overall look and feel. 18s are definitely the way to go.

I think with this style of rim the larger sidewall really suits the look.

Thanks tigger73. I also wasn't sure how the gloss black would look on the white car. But it really ties in nicely with the other black accents around the car.

I might also add that, driving it around the last few days I have not encountered any rubbing. I also have not done the fender screw mod. What I did do though was take 2 of the rims to a wheel/machine specialist and has some material shaved off the inner hub to increase the offset. We shaved off 3mm from the fronts, and I believe this has reduced the poke look somewhat.
In effect what I have is 38mm offset at rear and 41mm on the fronts.
235 tyres may or may not rub. But i dont feel the need to try that.

Gloss black on a light coloured car looks great! Especially when the car has gloss black highlights.

I love my black Pretoria’s on my TY R SE but I live on a rural property with 1 km of gravel road and a causeway so keeping them clean is impossible! I’m thinking of changing them to a Matt graphite or bronze/gold (Enkei SC 50/Sparco/Ultraleggera HLT) what offsets will work with either 8 or 8 1/2 in widths? What hub size is the R? I apologise if this is the wrong area to post this question!

Hi guys I’ve been flicking through this thread for the past few hours but haven’t found a definitive answer to my question
I have a mk7.5 Gtd that I have bought wheels of the following spec
    8.5x19 et42 with pirelli p zero tyres in 235/35/19
My question is will my fronts be flush ? I have read conflicting opinions.
Et42 is the only offset available ( inspiri ffr6)
Biting my nails at the moment as I, A don’t want and poke past flush and B don’t want any rubbing as the car is used daily and driven quite hard
    Any help would be appreciated

ET42 will have a bit of poke at the front - the rear will be perfect though

    19x8.5, offset 45-50 is best
    19x8, offset 40-55 would work

Use an online wheel size calculator for exact specs

Hub size is 57 point whatever (57.1?), lots of wheels come in 66.6 for Audi’s and you can use hub rings
