Don't mind it - gold works fairly well with blue, grey, black and occasionally red.
Although it does echo the WRX style a little.
Not my type of finish - those work best in the OEM finish we had locally on the 35th Mk6 - off silver.

I was from the 'other side' in those days - I had one of the first Chev motored SS in black, dark tint, full exhaust and a 'big' (at the time) set of 18 inch ROH Azzuro* wheels which I guess were copies of the OZ Superturismo LMs - even then I was channeling my inner Euro, it just took me another decade or so to bite the bullet on the Mk6 GTI.
*Interestingly when googling them today the style I had still comes up, but officially they are now a half copy of OZ Ultraleggeras and are usually fitted to that ROH Toyota 86 project car that pops up in magazines and shows.
