Cadiz almost put me off buying the car altogether. To the point that I was unmoved by a rather attractive sales woman tried to convince me that girls like her like them.
I wound up going for one with Cadiz only because they wouldn't discount the Wolfsburg by as much.
They've grown on me a little, but they'll definitely be changing at some point.
Wheels are certainly subjective, but geez you are dedicated if they almost cost you an R.
And chicks don't dig Cadiz - she's a fraud.
My issue with the whole Cadiz thing really centred on the fact that Euro guys get them^^^ Pretorias as a $1,500 odd option, whereas (apart from the Wolfsburg edition) the only chance of getting a set was paying $6-8,000 depending on whether it was a private import or the odd dealer that was willing to buy a set in. Which is a shame because they are one of the best OEM wheels VW has got.
(and why a 221kw Euro R uses 6.9l/100km under their tests, whereas the detuned R locally uses 7.1l/100km and thus didn't qualify as a fuel efficient vehicle for tax purposes.. when that was relevant, not sure the R clips the tax level anymore but I guess that's a discussion for a different thread)
As for a wheel change, plenty of sweet OZ, BBS and HRE wheels that will sit just right. And chicks dig them. I've asked.

Thankfully buying it at a discount avoids the luxury car tax threshold, but yeah, since when do stated fuel economies apply in real life anyway?
I had a lot of other options in cars at the time. Loved the R at the time, but could have easily gone elsewhere if I didn't get the right deal. I've grown far more fond of it since owning it.
I saw a LSG MK7 R with gloss black wheels in Macquarie Centre a few weeks ago. Looked fantastic. Helped that it was lowered as well. Should have taken a photo! Now I don't know what they were...
Agreed the fuel figures won't be achieved - more a point of interest while I was re-checking that Euro Pretoria price option. :)
Black on LSG is a good combo, I'd be looking at something like the HRE FF01s which can be had quite sharply still (as below, revisited from last week), although I do have bias towards the OZ ST LMs, Ultraleggeras or Leggera HLTs in black as well:
