Same here on my Mk6, could never quite work out what it was warning me, given the manual explanation of how to lock doors but don't arm internal alarm(double press) didn't really explain why it was warning me. Thought that little B pillar button was maybe pressed when it shouldn't be or vice versa.Quote:

Drove to Sydney and back (from Canberra) yesterday. I must say, the cruise control is the best I've used. The ability to go up/down in 10km/h increments makes it easier to deal with those numpties that block you at the last second, and then the ability to use 1km/h increments for those to drive properly is great! And the MFD shows the set speed too. (I came from a Mk5)
I only managed to get 787km out of the first tank (with 50km remaining according to the MFD). The old Mk5 could do 900km without a sweat. I hope the improved Bluemotion stuff can compensate for the smaller tank size.
Seats were very comfortable, and the Bluetooth streaming from the S3 worked perfectly.
When the fuel low message came on, the SatNAV popped up asking me if I wanted to select the nearest petrol station. (Neat!)
However going to said petrol station didn't seem to clear it from the destination list.
I also noticed that the SatNAV voice was too low compared to the music, so I might need to adjust that. I couldn't find any option to mute the music during announcements. (Only calls)
When I drove into Sydney, I got stuck in mini-jam, and I must admit, the stop/start system becomes VERY annoying because you're only stopped for 5 secs before the traffic moves 2m. The system should only activate at traffic lights (which I reckon it could work out using the built in map). That sort of wear/tear would kill a car, no matter how much it's been designed for it.
Oh, 120km/h MFD seems to be bout 114km/h on the GPS on the phone. :)
I have done 2200km now, roughly half traffic half freeway maybe freeway a bit more, and I'm averaging 5.5L to 5.7L/100km.Quote:

It is highly unlikely you will achieve the figures quoted by the manufacturer for fuel consumption for any vehicle.. They are not achieved in actual urban or highway driving but on a dynamometer on a defined speed/load cycle that is supposed to "equate" to such driving.
Even with cruise control on a freeway with little undulation, you will be extremely lucky to get close to the figures quoted by the manufacturer.
One suggestion is to use the web site www.fuelly.com and use it to track and map your fuel consumption. Over a period of time you will see how things vary and what a realistic number is.
OTOH, if you hang out in the Skoda section you'll find most drivers getting the manufacturers figure or better. VW group vehicles seem pretty good in this regard once they are run-in (5,000km+). I average 6.7L/100km & factory claim was 7.6L/100km. Once I hit the suburbs it's about 8L/100km.Quote:

scroll thru the MFD menu and Im sure you will see your average speed is low....I have approx. 700kms on the clock in my 90tsi and the average speed is 20km/h. This is a indication of why my fuel economy isnt soo great ! It maybe the reason for you too.
Increase that average speed to 80 or 90km/h (ie lots of highway) and your fuel economy will drop right down into nice 5-6l/100km territory.
