Anyone know if you can install an aftermarket towbar on the golf 7.5 R wagon?

Yes, however the R is not approved to tow trailers from my research. Unless you're just using a bike carrier, I suggest not getting one fitted.

Golf R 2018. Can anyone advise how to cause an audible warning for when the blind-spot monitor is activated. The passenger-side would suffice.

I'm thinking a buzzer in the glovebox, connected to a wire at the fuse (whichever it is) that does the bsm light. I've looked in my Owner manual and am not sure which fuse or whether engine or dash fusebox.

Smiley noted Ben. I would regard it as a simple extra safety measure. I don't know how but I had a near miss the other day even though I thought I did "all the right things". The buzzers are only $3.89 from Jaycar and I thought other people may be interested too.

It’s amazing they’re not standard actually, seeing as you get buzzers and hazard avoidance when in Parking Mode or whatever it’s called. Would be a good addition.
