Rear is privacy glass. Most folks just tint the fronts and get it matched to the back. The tinting people will tell you the privacy glass does not repel heat, so needs to be tinted with a clear film to stop heat passage, or with a "normal" tinted film that makes it even darker, and cannot be matched then to the front windows.
I cannot say if it is any less hot with or without tint on the rear, because you don't notice it in winter, and it's always bloody hot up here in summer regardless... :)
