GFs Golfs GTI 2000cc turbo 2012 hatch

Hi All

recent service to VW showed the cause of her shuddering during acceleration is down to a gear box clutch assembly requiring replacement
a $3600 repair job after only 45,000 on the clock? is this normal for this low KMs?....the repair the service guy commented with a "it's not too bad, its only $3600"!

Hi and welcome. Assuming its a 2012 model Golf GTI then no its not a common issue as these gearboxes are pretty robust and reliable. Perhaps get a 2nd opinion, as potentially a transmission oil service and a reset of the software (which resets the clutches too) might get you motoring again.

Not sure where you are in Melbourne, but if you are in the South Eastern suburbs, go see Underground Performance.
